Is The Broadway a Great British High Street?

Great British High Street 2015The Broadway has been entered into the GB High Street Competition and news on progress is due at the beginning of October.

The competition to find the best High Street in Britain is promoted by the Department for Communities and local Government and is in its 2nd year.

Our entry will helps raise Broadstone’s profile. If selected as a finalist (and there is a lot of competition) there will be an opportunity to support on-line. Follow Broadstone Village Facebook page for updates.

It may be a Great High Street but it survives (and thrives) on your Custom

Apparently August was the worst trading month for High Streets since the economy crash of 2008! Poor weather and uncertainty over mortgage interest rates have been blamed for deterring shoppers. There was some evidence of this in Broadstone and shoppers are urged to keep loyal and keep what we have here…..2 bakers, 2 greengrocers, 2 butchers, 2 supermarkets, 2 pubs …..Choice and Value!
