Appeal to Broadstone Community Organisations
Broadstone Methodist Church has kindly offered to host a community lunch to take place 3 times a year, commencing in 2016. This is renewing an activity which has taken place in the past and which was very popular. It does require some organisation and I have volunteered to be the new organiser (in my retirement!) if there is sufficient interest in attending such an event. My initial thoughts are to provide an opportunity to network with other key stakeholders in our community with a sandwich lunch. I would like to give key workers and organisations in our community the opportunity to give brief presentations from time to time, so that we can share and build on what we offer to our community. There would be a small charge just to cover the cost of sandwiches.
If you are interested in participating in such an event, I would be grateful if you could reply to me on email@example.com or drop a note into the Methodist Church for my attention, with answers to the questions below. This is ‘my market research’ directed to our schools, health centres, churches, police, Chamber of Trade, Neighbourhood Watch, Youth Centre, Broadstone Age Concern and other Broadstone organisations. I envisage inviting at least one representative from each of these.
- Which day of the week would suit you best: Monday or Friday?
- What time would suit you best: 12.30 to 1.30, 12 to 1, or 1 to 2? (Please note it would be quite possible to drop in for half an hour.)
- Are you or your representative happy to pay a small charge, for example, up to £3.50 just to cover the cost of your food?
- Please could you give me the email addresses of relevant people in your organisation to whom to send further information about the lunches next year?
I look forward to hearing from you. RSVP c/o Broadstone Methodist Church or firstname.lastname@example.org
