Community Organisers is a national training programme in community organising that focuses on building relationships and mobilising people in communities. They encourage communities to take action that makes a positive difference by listening to the concerns of their community and helping them to take action on the issues that matter and create positive change.

Previously hosted by Poole Council for Voluntary Services, two local Poole based Community Organisers are now being employed by the Poole Well-being Collaborative.
Mollie Lewis and Katie Pathak will be working in the areas of Canford Heath East and Broadstone, to include the Waterloo Estate. They will continue to engage with those communities, listening to residents and enabling their voices to be heard. However, this second year will have a particular focus on promoting positive health and well-being through empowering the local communities to develop their own solutions. Mollie and Katie will also work more closely with partner organisations in order to build relationships which will enable residents, groups, associations and businesses to develop their collective power and act together for the benefit of local people.
If you have any thoughts about potential community leaders within these areas, or if you are working/living/volunteering in these areas and have any ideas for projects that local people may want to get involved with, please contact Mollie or Katie on 01202 977073; they would love to hear from you.
