September proved to be a very busy month, with our monthly ‘drop in’ at Broadstone Methodist Church, the monthly surgery in Broadstone Library and the launch of our weekly Library Memory Group. I am not sure that we have found the best time for the Library Memory Group which currently takes place every Monday, 11am to 12 noon in Broadstone Library. We have coffee and biscuits, listen to great short stories and poems, have a chat and meet other people. I would be grateful for any feedback on this.
At the end of the month we held our Forget Me Not Harvest Festival Service at Broadstone United Reformed Church, which resulted from partnership working with Broadstone Age Concern and Broadstone Churches Together. I would like to thank everybody involved. The Forget Me Not Church Services are open to anybody who would like to attend a church service which lasts for less than 30 minutes! A great deal of planning goes into the services and it is amazing that we sang three well known hymns, heard a wonderful poem, a bible reading and shared reflections on growing and harvesting in such a short time period. The Church was beautifully decorated with flowers and produce. My special thanks also go to Ernie, at Diane’s Bakers, who made some splendid loaves to add to the Church decorations and for lunch afterwards!
Our Christmas Forget Me Not Church Service will be on December 8th, 11am, with coffee from 10.30am, at Broadstone United Reformed Church, all are welcome.
