Two traveller caravans have set up camp on land near the council park and ride at Creekmoor, Poole.
A resident said two vehicles had arrived on Tuesday morning at the entrance to the unused park and ride in Upton Road.
“It’s a pain in the backside for local residents,” said the Creekmoor resident, who did not want to be named.
Council officers have visited the site and provided portable toilets for the travellers.
James Norman, regulatory team manager, Borough of Poole, said: “We can confirm that a small group of two caravans is currently occupying land adjacent to the Park and Ride at Creekmoor. Officers have visited the site and found it to be clean and tidy.
“In accordance with council policy, we are continuing to monitor the encampment to assess its effects on the local community and environment. Should the encampment begin to have a detrimental effect on either of these, we will commence eviction proceedings.”
Until this camp was set up there had been 10 on council land in Poole between April and July this year, the first of which was at Upton Country Park when three caravans stayed for six nights. They moved on one hour before a court hearing was due to start.
